Dec 31, 2006 - New Year's Eve in New Orleans

We rested up for the first half of the day, finally pulling into New Orleans at about 3:00 am.  We slept on our brand new Prophet Bus bunks and woke up late in the morning.  By 5:30 we were right in the heart of Jackson Sq. and Bourbon St.

If you've never been to New Orleans at night, it's really a sight you'll never forget.  When people wonder why God had to destroy New Orleans with Katrina, they should just take a stroll down Bourbon St. at night to realize that God knows what He's doing.

Our wild Prophet Bus Team hit the streets right after sunset and we pulled out our Bibles and guitars again and witnessed to all kinds...  from dropped out hippies to middle-aged people.  Several of the people we prayed with had miraculous salvation experiences, including the guy who said he had sold his soul to the Devil, but ended up opening his heart to Jesus!  Wow!  Rev. 3:20.  By the end of the night, 20 people had received Jesus as Savior.  You'll see it all on our first Prophet Bus DVD: "The Prophet Bus: Maiden Journey".

Justin, left, told David that he had already sold his soul to the Devil and he didn't think there was any hope for himself.

After talking with him for 20 minutes and singing him a few of our  prophet songs, Justin opened his heart to Jesus and was transformed before our very eyes!  It was an incredible  sight which you can see on the "The Prophet Bus: Maiden Journey". (On DVD)

The New Orleans mounted police force was out in number on New Year's Eve, and the horses were very sociable!

This guy stopped with his wife and baby and was what we call a sheep. He was very interested in knowing what Jesus said about becoming a disciple. David, with Michelle & Nick gave him the words of Jesus.

After talking with him for 30 minutes, he wanted us to tell him that he could do his own thing.  All we could do is point him to what Jesus said in the Bible.

We left Jackson Sq. at about 5 minutes before the New Year.  The confusion and loud music blaring from other bands made it difficult to hear your own voice and the throngs of people were in such a frenzy that we decided to head back to the bus.  No sooner did we sit down in the Prophet Bus to praise the Lord for all He had done today, than we got a knock on the door.  Two very sheepy teenagers asked what was going on and why we had such a big bus in New Orleans.  We invited Jesse & Bri into the Prophet Bus and we spent nearly 2 hours with them, singing about the Lord and telling them about our mission to reach the lost with the love of God and the words of Jesus.  They both prayed with us, asking Jesus to give them eternal life and we all praised God together!  That brought the total number of souls won that night to 21.  What a thrilling way to start 2007!
