Jan 18-19, 2007 - The Road to Sundance
|
En Route from Houston to Park City, Utah: We
made the 1,600 mile journey to Utah. On the way we met quite a few
people and took the opportunity to tell them about Jesus. We
will never forget what we experienced on this day. Because of the fact
that we live by faith (aka. letting God support us physically in
return for our obedience to Mark 16:15: "Go ye into all the world and
preach the Gospel to every Creature."), we expect the Lord to supply
for us in every situation, no matter what the need. (Phil 4:19: But my
God will supply all your need, according to His riches and glory in
Christ Jesus). This, of course, includes food for 9 hungry disciples
after a long day of sharing the Gospel with lost souls (and
driving for hours). After praying, we approached an IHOP, asking the
manager if he would donate dinner. He was not only interested in our
message, but also gave a meal for all 9 of us without hesitation.

That was a miracle in itself, but what followed, not only baffled us, but
inspired us to continue spreading His love. On our way out of the
restaurant, we passed by a group of young adults who were talking about
the Prophet Bus. They seemed interested, yet almost mocking, saying,
"Which of you is the prophet?", to which we responded: “Anyone with a
message from God”. We ended up singing an original Prophet Bus song which
spoke of full discipleship and how that many churches have strayed from
the sample Jesus gave. One of the guys in the group, David was captivated
by the message and asked a lot of questions about our lifestyle and
beliefs. We spent the next hour in deep conversation: talking about
revolutionary discipleship, and devoting 100% of our time to winning the
lost for Jesus. After listening intently, David tried to excuse his
lifestyle, while at the same time claiming to be a disciple of Jesus.
(Luke 14:33) It was almost as though he wanted us to tell him that Jesus
was happy with the small part of his life he had given to the Lord. We
left him with a challenge to become a fulltime disciple. We don't know
what his decision will be, but David, if you're reading this - you have
been chosen. Remember Matt. 22:14: “Many are called, but few are chosen.”
Choose ye this day whom you will serve." (Joshua 24:15) |
